Marketing Secrets

You know how most people are so busy putting marketing out there then wondering why it’s not working – and how frustrated they get?  I know.  They’re working hard – harder than they need to, and yet they’re still not getting the results they want.  And often their marketing is erratic and inconsistent.  Yet they wonder why they are not getting seen and heard through all the noise.  No surprise really.

The truth is – if they put their marketing foundations in place they can easily build on them.  Most don’t have the foundations so they’re building on very shaky ground.

It’s an area we’ve covered a lot with business owners lately and I want to help you make it easier for yourself.

You can make it easier for yourself if you put the foundations in first.  I created a simple MARKETING SECRETS document that shows you the 6 key foundation stones you need to get clear on first.  They are crazy simple and if you get 2 of the 6 parts right you’re 80% of the way to succeeding.   All 6 are clearly shown in the free download so you can work your way through them.  You can get started in as little as 10-15 minutes.  More if you really want to go deep and get clear on your marketing.

I have loads more simple tips to help you with CONSISTENCY – a Marketing Timetable, a way to link your free downloads to your marketing messages and sequences (just like I do each week as I offer a different giveaway) so you can see what your most popular resources are and build your relationships, and trust.

But there’s no point in building on shaky ground so check that you have the foundations in place.  And be sure to let us know how we can help you (most likely that’s going to be in the free 90dayplanning facebook group – link in intro).

I’m keen to help you get strengthen your foundations so we can share more tips on making your marketing consistent and easy.  It’s not just about putting messages out there.  You can get off the content creation treadmill and work on improving your content instead.  Join me in the facebook group to ask how.

I think by now it’s pretty clear that the first lines of your posts need to grab your audience’s attention.

If they don’t, they’ll move on to the next post.  We refer to this as the rule of 3s – 3 seconds to grab attention, to get them for 30 seconds to read on, to get them for 3 minutes.  etc. etc.  You can see how you ‘earn the right’ by keeping your reader interested.

But, it can get tricky to communicate an idea effectively in just a few words.

That’s why I want to share this example with you today:

If you notice the first two sentences (outlined in red), you’ll understand why this is such a great way to start a post.

Jane, the author, used dialogue to communicate her idea.

She wrote:

Me: “An engineer is coming tomorrow.”

Daughter: “What’s HER name?”

Compare that to starting your post like this:

We need to teach our children that engineers can be women as well.

You see how different both are? Yet, they communicate the same idea.

But Jane’s way of doing it is much stronger. Because she’s painting a picture in our heads.

She’s making the message much more memorable.

That’s the power that dialogue can give to your posts.
